About WTS

Founded in 1982 by its president, Dr. Stephen White, WTS is recognized as an early contributor to modern workplace crisis intervention.  Our principle focus is risk of violence assessments and threat management, and related consultation and training.

WTS services are based on sound clinical, research, and extensive case experience in preventing workplace homicide and serious violence.  We were among the first to explore these phenomena in the 1980s and offer risk management consultation to employers.  We are known for our responsiveness, knowledge of corporate environments and practices, and for improving security, legal, and employment status decisions through more accurate assessment of risk levels.

Workplace threat management consultation as we practice it consists of two basic components:

A data driven process of assessing risk of violence to a particular targeted individual or group; and
Intervening with recognized strategies for the purposes of interrupting escalation, reducing risk, redirecting employer focus for non-risk situations, and managing workplace disruption and anxiety.

WTS staff consultants are mental health professionals with established records of specialization in risk assessment and risk management strategies.  We have accomplished thousands of consultations to employers of all sizes, in diverse industries and workplace contexts.  We work collaboratively with legal, human resource, and security managers in their efforts to maintain a safe workplace.  Our other major services are conflict management, trauma reduction, and trauma management planning.

We are headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area and have associates and colleagues in Southern California, Nevada, Colorado, Massachusetts, and other locales.  We are available to provide services at any location.
